A huge amount of foreign currencies worth some Tk 2.70 crore was seized from three outbound passengers at Zia International Airport on Monday night.
Customs officials said they made the currency haul and held the three youths who were going to fly for Singapore with the consignment by an SQ flight scheduled at 10pm.
The suspected money smugglers were identified as Mohammad Selim, 16, Yunus Ali, 17, and Mohammad Rajon, 18.
Customs officials chased the trio while they were taking boarding pass at about 9pm as their movement was “so suspicious”. [Read more]
