Foreign Advisor Dr. Iftekhar Ahmed Chowdhury said Vietnam would sell rice to Bangladesh responding to the request of the country.
He said, “despite the fact that Vietnam had severe floods in 2007 and their harvest will not take place before February-March, Vietnam is responding to the request of a friendly country like Bangladesh, and is willing to sell rice to us.”
Speaking to the media at his office Sunday morning, the Foreign Adviser added that the Bangladesh Ambassador in Vietnam has informed him that even before the harvest, Vietnam may be able to sell 20,000 tons immediately. [Read more]
