Workers of Panna Textile Mill at Khagan here On Saturday staged demonstration, demanding their arrears and increased wages in the wake of price hike of essentials. Instead of joining their duties, the workers took position outside the mill gate in the morning and shouted slogans in favour of their demands.
They also damaged a number of doors and windowpanes of the mill, owned by Awami League leader and ex-MP Mokbul Hossain. On information, police rushed in and arranged a meeting between the workers and the mill management to resolve the problems. [Read more]
