The government has finalised a roadmap for the power sector for adding 7,500 megawatt electricity to the national grid by 2013.
An official of the Power Division under the Ministry of Power and Mineral Resources told BSS yesterday that the government is proceeding with short-term, mid-term and long-term plans to meet the growing demand for electricity. Measures are also under way to bring down loadshedding to a tolerable level.
The source said all-out efforts are going on to add 370 megawatt additional power to the national grid by June of the current year. [Read more]
