A housewife and her baby-boy drowned and 40 people were injured when a passenger boat capsized colliding with another boat in the river Meghna at Rajnagar under Char Aralia union in Raipura upazila of Narsingdi district yesterday.
The incident happened at about 12:00 noon.
The victims were identified as Shefali Begum, 24, and her 4-year-old son Rabbi. They hailed from Bashgari village in the upazila.
Witnesses said a country-made engine-boat of Nurul Islam left Banshgari of Raipura upazila at about 11:00am for Narsingdi. [Read more]
