The nation paid homage to the memories of the martyred intellectuals yesterday who made supreme sacrifice on December 14 at the fag end of the Liberation War.
Sensing their imminent defeat, the Pakistani occupation forces and their local collaborators brutally killed the country’s intellectuals on this day (December 14) in 1971 just two days before the victory under a blueprint to jeopardise the new born nation intellectually. Hundreds of thousands of people from all walks of life visited the Martyred Intellectuals Mausoleum at Mirpur and killing field at Royer Bazar in the capital after the state homage paying ceremony.
