Chevron, a US-based oil company, has proposed conducting an additional seismic survey on the onshore gas Block 7 to better understand its potential reserve.
According to official sources, to conduct the additional seismic survey, Chevron Bangladesh, the local chapter of the international oil company (IOC), has offered the government an amendment to the existing Production Sharing Contract (PSC) signed with the state-owned Petrobangla on April 2, 2000.
The sources said IOC has proposed the amendment after it fulfilled the contractual commitment of carrying out a seismic programme on the sprawling 10,000 sqkm onshore gas Block 7 last year. [Read more]
