The first sitting of charge framing hearing of an extortion case against former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the Metropolitan Sessions Judge’s Court in Parliament complex was held in her presence yesterday.
The Court was adjourned till December 9 after one of Sheikh Hasina’s lawyers pleaded for the deferment to allow him to go through the documents of the case. The Court granted the request.
Her co-accused and cousin former Minister Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim retracted his confessional statement in the extortion case telling the Court that the statement was extracted under duress.
