As massive rehabilitation works alongside relief operations have become necessary in the southern coastal districts nearly three weeks after the devastating Cyclone Sidr, Bangladesh yesterday sought one billion US dollars from international community for rebuilding the devastated infrastructures and livelihoods.
Chief Adviser Dr Fakhruddin Ahmed presented the estimate in a meeting with the Ambassadors and High Commissioners of different countries and representatives from donor agencies at the CA’s Office, as the country is now engrossed in rebuilding the cyclone-hit coastal localities. [Read more]
