Two separate High Court Division Benches yesterday granted bail to imprisoned BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Tarique Rahman and Chittagong City Mayor ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury in separate cases.
A High Court Division Bench comprising Justice Shah Abu Nayeem Mominur Rahman and Justice Zubayer Rahman Chowdhury granted bail to Tarique Rahman, the eldest son of detained former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia, in two extortion cases.
While another High Court Division Bench comprising Justice Khademul Islam Chowdhury and Justice M Abdul Hye granted bail to Mayor ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury in two corruption cases, one in connection with hill cutting. [Read more]
