Adviser for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs and Information Barrister Mainul Hosein yesterday said democracy in the country had failed, as there were no democratic practices within the political parties.
The Law Adviser said it has been proved that party dictatorship is not helpful for democracy.
He said the government would not bring political reforms as it is not involved with the process. Bringing political reform is a matter of the parties concerned. It is not a matter of the government, he said
The Law Adviser, however, said possible reform would be brought in the electoral laws through the Election Commission (EC). [Read more]
