Forces Hq set up in Barisal: No bar on political parties to take part in relief activities: Army Chief

Chief of Army Staff General Moeen U Ahmed yesterday said that there is no restriction on political parties to take part in relief activities.
Talking to journalists after a meeting with US Pacific Commander Admiral Timothy J. Keating at the Army Headquarters, he dismissed the plea of some political parties for lifting the state of emergency to pave the way for their effective participation in the relief activities.
There is no link between the state of emergency and relief activities. People from all walks of life including politicians should have to stand beside the cyclone affected people, the Army Chief observed. [Read more]
