3 days’ consecutive fall in DSE sparks protest

Hundreds of investors demonstrated in the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) on Thursday, against the Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC) decision to stop issuing portfolio loans by the Merchandise Banks and Brokerage houses to them.
Upset by consecutive three days market fall, investors blocked road in front of the exchange building, chanted slogan against the SEC and DSE.
Equity market on the day further plunged down by 26.733 points in DSE general index, losing almost Tk142 crore more in a day. It lost total 54.80 points within a week. [Read more]
