’96 debacle in share market can’t be repeated: SEC chief

Chairman of the Securities Exchange Commission (SEC) Faruq Ahmad Siddiqi yesterday said stakeholders of the capital market should play a responsible role and remain alert to check the recurrence of the 1996 share market debacle.
“The capital market is the future of Bangladesh economy, so we can not allow it to collapse,” he said while speaking as the chief guest at a function marking the inauguration of the Chittagong office of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE). [Read more]
