A strong earthquake, measuring 6.0 on the Richter scale, shook a number of districts in southern and southeastern parts of the country yesterday afternoon, causing panic and fear among people when cracks developed on many buildings.
However, there were no immediate reports of significant damage, death or casualty in the areas although at least 10 persons were injured when rushing out of their homes in panic, officials said.
They were admitted to Chittagong Medical College Hospital. Identities of three of the injured people were received. [Read more]
