The caretaker government was pleased on Tuesday to announce dearness allowance or something like that as perks so that fixed-income groups could make two ends meet in the wake of excessive price rises.
This appeal was made during the meeting of the secretaries with Chief Advisor Dr. Fakhruddin Ahmed at Bangladesh Secretariat, where the head of caretaker government gave directives to the bureaucrats for a better run of the administration for people’s welfare. Jute Secretary Abdur Rashid Sarker made the appeal, suggesting that the fixed-income groups are in problem due to the price hike of essential goods. [Read more]
