The two-day meeting of Bangladesh-India Joint Working Group on Trade which ended here on Tuesday failed to yield any outcome, sources close to the talks said. They said Bangladesh requested the Indian delegation to lift their ban on exporting rice, pulse and onion.
The Indian side said the ban was not imposed on exporting those items to Bangladesh only, rather it applied for all countries as they have a scarcity of these items in their country.
But they suggested the Bangladesh side to send a letter to them (India) through proper channel and they would hand it over to the Indian central government. [Read more]
