Speedy Trial Tribunal (STT) of Rajshahi yesterday awarded 12 persons death sentences and four others life term in the sensational triple murder case of Dhunat under Bogra district.
Twenty four other accused of the same case, however, were acquitted because charges brought against them could not be proved. Judge of STT ATM Mesbah Ullah pronounced the judgement at a crowded courtroom yesterday noon.
According to court sources, the assailants at dead of night on September 22, 2004 hacked and slaughtered Abdul Baki Pramanik and his two sons Yeasin and Abdul with sharp weapons at their home at Borochapra under Dhunat upazila. [Read more]
