A very senior government official exchanging views at a foreign diplomatic reception in Dhaka the other day painted a very negative picture of the news media and of the professionals running those. The observations were made and comments passed without even the slightest reservations giving his listeners a clear idea that those were no mere slips of his tongue, but statements made with some degree of anger and to some extent also hate.
