Detained BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia has reportedly urged the party leaders and workers to remain united under Khandaker Delwar Hossain whom she had appointed as BNP secretary general.
Talking to reporters at his Dhaka Housing apartment at Adabar in the city, BNP acting Office Secretary Rizvi Ahmed said he learnt from reliable sources that Begum Zia has declared the Saifur-Hafiz committee as illegal.
Khaleda, who sacked Abdul Mannan Bhuiyan as secretary general on September 2, said Delwar’s appointment as new secretary general is legal and urged the BNP members to remain united under his leadership. [Read more]
