The 31st anniversary of the Jail Killing Day will be observed today.
Four national leaders-Syed Nazrul Islam, Acting President of the Provisional Bangladesh government in 1971, Tajuddin Ahmed, Prime Minister, M Mansur Ali, Finance Minister and AHM Qamruzzaman, Minister for Home affairs-were killed inside Dhaka Central Jail by a section of misguided soldiers on this day (November 3) in 1975.
The Awami League (AL) and its front organisations observe the day as the ‘Jail Killing Day’ every year.
Family members of the four national leaders and the AL will observe the day through various programmes. [Read more]
