An unprecedented student rioting on the Dhaka University campus and surrounding areas Tuesday left over 50 people injured as frenzied throngs of protestors broke or burnt dozens of passing vehicles to press for pullout of army troops garrisoned in the varsity compound.
The protests flared up for a second day yesterday, on a wider scale, after overnight pitched batles since Monday evening when the trouble started following a brawl between an army personnel and a student during a football match, witnesses said. [Read more]
