EC to seek lifting ban on indoor politics Move to start dialogue with parties

The Election Commission will request the government to withdraw the ban on indoor politics by the end of this month to pave the way for starting dialogue with the political parties on electoral reform.
“If we see that the ban on indoor politics is not withdrawn by August 30, we will contact the government one or two days before to know about the issue,” Chief Election Commissioner Dr ATM Shamsul Huda said this while talking to reporters at his office yesterday.
He apprehended that if the ban on indoor politics is not lifted the EC may face problem to follow the sequence of the election roadmap announced on July 15. [Read more]
