Police caught a military-man red-handed while extorting money from a city restaurant at Kotwali area hours before dawn yesterday.
Police identified the detained military man as Mohammad Azad Ali (27), son of Mohammad Siddique Ali of village Singhori in Horipur under Thakurgaon district
Duty officer at Kotwali police station sub-inspector Mohammad Bashir told this correspondent that Azad Ali went to a restaurant - Hotel Al Amin - at about 1:10 a.m. and demanded money.
He threatened the hotel manager and employees that he would arrest all if they did not fulfill his demand. [Read more]
