Stay on Hasina’s bail extended for 10 days: SC to hear govt appeals on Aug 26

The Appellate Division on Thursday fixed August 26 as the date to pass order on the government’s civil petitions (CP) seeking permission to file appeal against the High Court order granting Sheikh Hasina’s bail in the extortion cases lodged by two businessmen.
The court also extended its earlier order to stay the operation of the High Court order dated July 30 that granted Hasina’s bail in the extortion case lodged by Azam J Chowdhury till August 26. [Read more]
