Close civil-military ties stressed: Effective JS, political reforms, expanded national security council to have civilian control over security forces suggested

Foreign Adviser Dr Iftekhar Ahmed Chowdhury Thursday said a close and cooperative civil-military relationship would be a healthy component of national integration and a big investment in the national security of Bangladesh. He made the remarks at the concluding session of a 5-day workshop on “Democracy, Governance and Security” at Hotel Radisson in the city. US Charge d’ Affaires Geeta Pasi and Director of the Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies (APCSS) Lt Gen.
