US Charge d’ Affaires Geeta Pasi on Thursday said Bangladeshi people deserve no less than democracy for which they fought and sacrificed their lives.
She said the caretaker government is entrusted with a great responsibility to lay the foundation for a free and fair election by the end of 2008 and a healthy functioning democratic system that Bangladesh deeply desire.
The US envoy made the remarks at the concluding session of a 5-day workshop on “Democracy, Governance and Security Reforms” at Hotel Radisson. [Read more]
