Despite the improvement of overall flood situation across the country, many areas being devoured due to continued river erosion with the receding of floodwaters.
On the other hand, waterborne diseases, including diarrhoea and dysentery take serious turn in different districts of the country apart from the capital Dhaka.
Besides, the number of diarrhoea patients is still increasing at the ICDDR,B’s Dhaka Hospital. Some 900 to 1,000 patients with diarrhoea are admited there everyday. The ICDDR,B authorities are facing serious difficulties to cope with the growing number of diarrhoeal patients. [Read more]
