Land, Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Adviser Barrister Mainul Hosein yesterday said, infrastructure and other development projects force people from their homes and communities and subject them to economic and social hardship due to absence of adequate compensation and assistance under the 1982 Ordinance used for land acquisition and resetlement
He said, to address the inadequacy the government is contemplating to bring about changes in the Land Acquisition and Resetlement Ordinance of 1982 and formulate a national policy on resetlement under ADB technical assistance. [Read more]
