Diarrhoea situation serious:44,000 infected with water borne diseases

With the recession of floodwaters across the country, sufferings of marooned people in the eastern part of the city have not eased.
Among the marooned people, some are staying on the rooftop of their tin-shed houses, while some are passing their nights on the cots inside their houses. Their sufferings mount at night due to mosquito menace in one hand and movement of poisonous snakes on the other.
Finding no other alternative, many families collect rainwater for drinking. Majority of the families have been passing their days without food and drinking water. [Read more]
