The secretary-level meeting on Teesta water sharing held in Delhi about a week ago did not make any headway as the Indian side asked for referring it to the next Joint River Commission (JRC) meeting on technical grounds.
The ministerial level JRC meeting is scheduled to be held in New Delhi sometime in October or November.
Bangladesh and India could not reach a consensus on signing an agreement on Teesta water sharing as both the countries presented proposals which were different
