With the improvement of overall flood situation, diarrhoea spreads fast, infecting thousands of people across the country.
Breaking the record of last ten years, some 1,000 patients with acute form of diarrhoea admited to the ICDDR,B’s Dhaka Hospital in a single day on Friday. In 1998, the highest 927 patients with diarrhoea were admited to the ICDDR,B’s Dhaka Hospital.
Visiting the ICDDR,B’s Dhaka Hospital yesterday morning, this correspondent found that hundreds of patients were being given treatment Being weakened by frequent loose motion and vomiting, the diarrhoeal patients were yelling on their beds and their relatives were consoling them. [Read more]
