Twenty two jute mill workers detained on charge of rioting and violence from places in and around Amin Jute Mills at Sholoshahar had been sent to Chitagong central jail.
Earlier, police produced the detainees before the court of a metropolitan magistrate late Thursday night where the court ordered to put them into jail custody.
Police Sub-Inspector (SI) Deepak Dewan recorded a case with Panchlaish police
station accusing unidentified 500 mill workers and locals of Thursday’s fierce clashes that left a worker dead and wounded more than 70 others including police and newsmen. [Read more]
