A young man, who was arrested on Wednesday by the detective branch of police for his alleged involvement in criminal activities and possessing drugs, was found dead at the custody of Netrokona Sadar Police Station yesterday morning.
Netrokona Sadar Police Station sources said Ziaur Rahman Zia, son of Abdul Wahab of Chalkpara in Netrokona town, was arrested from Baruary ferry-ghat area in Netrokona Sadar Upazila.
“The 23-year-old Zia commited suicide by hanging himself with his shirt tightening with the door frame of the custody room,” Abdul Hannan, officer-in-charge of Netrokona Sadar Police Station, said. [Read more]
