Breaches at city embankment: Army deployed to repair dam: Buriganga crosses danger level this morning

As the water in the river Buriganga near the capital continues to rise and may cross danger level by this evening, floodwaters started entering through different areas in the western part of the city from yesterday morning.
Besides, the eastern part of the capital witnessed further deterioration of the flood situation with the flooding of fresh areas.
Fresh areas, including Islambagh and Hazaribagh in the western part of the city went under knee-deep water yesterday morning as water from the river Buriganga started entering through the Buckland Bund, an embankment on the northern bank of the river Buriganga along the southern front of the capital.
