As millions of people in Bangladesh, hit by the worst floods this year, need assistance, the world community has come forward to help the country’s flood victims.
The United Kingdom has already provided $2.5 million or Tk 17 crore aid, while Germany has given 500,000 euros (685,000 dollars) for Bangladesh flood victims.
It is learnt that if the Bangladesh government request, the United Nations would launch an international appeal to help flood victims as two-thirds of Bangladesh has already been submerged, destroying crops and killing more than 120 people officially. [Read more]
