The much talked 22-storey Rangs Bhaban in the city’s Bijoy Sarani was turning into a skeleton gradually as the Rajdhani Unnyan Kartripakkha (RAJUK) had been carrying out the demolition activities for the second day yesterday.
Meanwhile, RAJUK Chairman KMA Harun told The New Nation, “We will demolish the upper parts beyond 60 feet of the building not beyond the six floors.”
He also said that for constructing a straight road to connect Bijoy Sarani with Tongi Diversion Road, 63 more establishments from the Rangs building to Tongi Diversion Road would also be demolished after acquiring the land by compensating the affected people and organisations. [Read more]
