The Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) may not succeed to contribute in the market control effort of the government during the month of Ramzan as none are participating in its bids.
TCB officials yesterday opened a tender box for importing onion and gram but found no single submission from the importers.
However, TCB has succeeded to ensure import of 1 thousand tones of lentil from Turkey and to buy 5 lakh litres of soyabean oil from local market
TCB sources said that the Government has planned to start open market sale of lentil, Soyabean oil, gram and sugar from the first week of September. [Read more]
