Under-23 booters join training camp

The Bangladesh Under-23 booters backed to business as they joined their residential training camp at Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Prothistan (BKSP) in Savar on Friday, reports BSS.
The camp which began under the supervision of national football team coach Andrew Ord on June 20 last with the initially selected 54 booters for the AFC U-23 Championship Qualifiers to be held next month in Palestine.
In the current 31-member squad in the camp, which regrouped on Friday after the Eid vacation, has been trimmed from 36 members over the last few days. The squad will be further reduced to the final 23-member after the first practice match against Abahani on July 7 at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in the city.
Meanwhile, the booters will also play two more practice matches. They will fly to Nepal to play their second practice match against their Nepalese U-23 counterpart in Kathmandu on July 11 before coming back home to face Sri Lanka Army SC on July 14.
Bangladesh have been drawn in group E along with Jordan, Palestine and Tajikistan of the AFC U-23 Championship Qualifiers. The team will start their tournament campaign taking on Jordan on July 19 and Tajikistan on July 21 before playing their last match of the group against hosts Palestine on July 23.
