Two men were killed and two others injured as a covered van hit a van loaded with fuel drums in Birulia Bridge area of the city on Thursday night.
The deceased were identified as Mojammel Miah, 23, and Ruku Miah, 25, while the injured were Nur Mohammad, 22, a van driver, and Mithun Miah, 22, a resident of Lalkuthi in Mirpur area of the city, reports a news agency.
A speeding covered van hit the van loaded with fuel drums in Birulia Bridge area while it was returning from Ashulia in Savar upazila to Mirpur area in the city around 8:15pm, said sub-inspector of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) police camp Bacchu Miah.
Locals rescued the four injured people from the spot and whisked them off DMCH where the duo was declared dead by doctor around 9:30pm.
