A minor boy was allegedly burnt to death by his step mother at Srirampur Modyopara village in Manda upazila of Naogaon district on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Arafat Hossain, 6, son of Moklesur Rahman, a resident of the village, according to a news agency report.
Locals said after divorce with Anguri Bibi, Moklesur Rahman married Sathi Akhter, 22, one year ago.
Sathi used to torture Anguri’s son Arafat.
As there was no family members in the house in the afternoon, Sathi poisoned Arafat.
She later burnt down the body, said Mozaffar Hossain, officer-in-charge of Manda Police Station.
Police arrested Sathi from the house.
A case was filed in this connection.
