BSD (M-L) concern over territorial disputes in South-China Sea

General Secretary of Bangladesher Samyabadi Dal (M-L) Dilip Barua expressed on Thursday deep concern over the unilateral arbitration initiated by the Philippines for resolving territorial disputes in the South-China Sea.
The former minister said the Philippines has violated the agreement with China to resolve the dispute through bilateral negotiations, according to a press release.
    Dilip Barua claimed the Philippines government took the initiative, to create an unstable situation in the South-China Sea for global hegemony.
"I firmly believe China and the Philippines should come forward to settle the territorial disputes in the sea through negotiation and consultation and relevant rules and mechanism," he said.
The leftist leader called on both China and the Philippines to solve the problem bilaterally for achieving win-win outcome without the third party involvement.
Resolving problems through negotiation, the South-China Sea may turn into a sea of peace, he said adding that co-operation and friendship between the two countries will contribute to a peaceful Asia Pacific region. [Read More]
