A union parishad (UP) secretary was killed as a truck ran over him at Chaklahat UP in Sadar upazila of Panchagarh district on Sunday evening.
The deceased was identified as Md Kabul Hossain, 39, a resident of Daulatpara village of Tetulia upazila, according to a news agency report.
Md Forhad Hossain, chairman of Chaklahat UP said, Kabul was supervising the unloading of VGF rice from the truck at the UP office premises around 7.30pm.
Suddenly, as the truck went back, Kabul was crushed under the truck.
Critically injured, Kabul Hossain was rushed to Panchagarh Adhunik Sadar Hospital where doctor declared him dead.
