B’desh clinch AFC U-14 Girls’ crown

A brilliant hat-trick by Tohura Khatun guided Bangladesh to clinch the AFC U-14 Girls Regional (South and Central) crown for the 2nd consecutive times with all-win record crushing their giant neighbour India by 4-0 goal in the final at the Aviator Stadium in Dushanbe, Tajikistan on Sunday, reports UNB.
Tohura Khatun slammed the 2nd hat-trick for Bangladesh scoring three goals in the final in the 2nd, 52nd and 64th minutes and was adjudged the top scorer of the tournament with ten individual goals while Anai Mogini netted other goal in the 32nd minute.
Tohura scored the first hat-trick in the just concluded meet scoring three goals against hosts Tajikistan in the semifinal after making two goals each against India and Nepal in the group matches.
Iran finished third in the AFC U-14 Girls meet outplaying hosts Tajikistan 7-0 goal in a place deciding match, also on Sunday.
However, hosts Tajikistan was adjudged the most disciplined team to receive the "Fair Play Trophy" while Roghayeh Jalal Nasab of Iran named as the most valuable player of the tournament.
Bangladesh booked a seat for the final with unbeaten run crushing hosts Tajikistan by 9-1 goals in the semifinal on Saturday.
Earlier in the Group B matches, Bangladesh defeated Nepal by 9-0 and India by 3-1 goals.
