Al-Amin propels Kalabagan CA, Anamul ton steers Gazi Group to six-wkt win

Al Amin's all-round performance propelled Kalabagan Cricket Academy to cruise to a comfortable five wickets win over Victoria Sporting Club in the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League held on Monday on the Bangladesh Krira Shikka Prothistan ground in Savar, reports BSS.
Chasing a winning target of 264 runs set by Kalabagan, Victoria hardly had to sweat as they marched on to reach home piling 266 in 48.1 overs with five wickets in hand.
Opener Abdul Hamid was the top scorer for Victoria as he scored a superb 69 and this inspired Al-Amin to score quick 54.
Skipper Dhiman Ghosh and Nadif Chowdhury of Victoria completed the formalities to remain unbeaten on 32 and 29 runs respectively.
Abu Jayed was the pick of Kalabagan bowler taking three wickets for 57 runs.
Earlier, put to bat first by Victoria, Kalabagan, rode on opener Irfan Sukkur blistering 88 runs and second down Mehedi Hasan Miraz supported with an excellent 51 helping their side to post a competitive total of 263 for 6 from their allotted 50 overs.
Skipper Mahmudul Hasan (31) and Nuruzzaman (30) were the other two notable contributors for Kalabagan.
Suhrawardy Shuvo was the most successful bowler for Victoria picking up two wickets for 20 runs.
Al-Amin chipped in for Victoria with a wicket for 52 runs. He was later named the player of the match for his brilliant performance on the day.
On the other hand, opener Anamul Haque finally hammered his first century after 16 months to steer Gazi Group Cricketers to an overwhelming six-wicket victory over Cricket Coaching School (CCS) in a battle between two newly-promoted sides in the Dhaka Division Premier League held on Monday at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium at Mirpur.
Chasing a 177 -run target set by Cricket Coaching School, Gazi Group rode on Anamul's ton to comfortably reach their desired target scoring 179 in 33.4 overs. It was the third consecutive defeats for Cricket Coaching School while Gazi Group recorded their second win in three matches.
Mohammad Saifuddin was the leading CCS bowler with figures of 3 for 26 in 7.4 overs.
Earlier, Cricket Coaching School batting first was bundled out for a paltry 176 in 47 overs after they were asked to bat first. Salman Hossain and Uttam Sarkar made fifties, but afterward only two other batsmen - opener Amit Majumder and No 10. Nasum Ahmed - reached double figures.
