Eurozone unemployment rate hits lowest since 2011

BRUSSELS, Apr 30 (Xinhua): The eurozone seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate fell to its lowest rate since August 2011 at 10.2 per cent in March, Eurostat said on Friday.
The rate was down from 10.4 per cent in February this year, and from 11.2 per cent in March 2015. The EU unemployment rate in March fell to the lowest rate in seven years, standing at 8.8 per cent in March, down from 8.9 per cent in February, and from 9.7 per cent in March 2015.
The European statistics agency said the number of persons unemployed decreased by 250,000 in the 28-country EU and by 226,000 in the 19-country euro area.
Among EU member states, the lowest unemployment rates in March were recorded in the Czech Republic (4.1 per cent) and Germany (4.2 per cent). Greece continues to have the highest unemployment rates at 24.4 per cent, with Spain the second highest at 20.4 per cent. [Read More]
