Exhibition of diversified jute goods begins Friday

A three-day exhibition on jute products will begin at Drik Gallery on Friday (today).

Care Bangladesh’s Jute Value Chain Project is organsing the exhibition—Switch to Jute-under a project to promote diversification of the jute products.

The project, better known as SWITCH Asia - Jute Value Chain Project, is working from the bottom to top level of the jute value chain where activities start from cultivation of jute, production of jute diversified products and ends with linkage with the export market, according to a press statement.

The overall objective of this project is to contribute to pro-poor economic growth through social business promotion, it said.

It is already creating a positive impact on 16000 small and marginalised jute producers, 60 organic fertiliser producers, 2000 diversification workers who are now skilled as artisans, 20 small and medium-sized entrepreneurs along with other national associations and public agencies that are active in the Bangladeshi jute industry.

The exhibition will continue till Sunday from 3PM to 8PM everyday, according to a news agency.
