At least 20,000 police officials and constables of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), the largest police force in the country, had been deprived of residential and medical facilities.
The current total strength of DMP stands at 24,408 personnel and 41 police stations. Of them only 2.62 percent police officials are getting residences. DMP had five hundred vehicles for providing transport facilities to 14,000 police. Most of the vehicles were 20 years’ old. Many police constables have been deprived of medicals facilities.
