62,000 men to be trained to tackle quates

Food and Disaster Management Minister Dr Abdur Razzak said yesterday that the government was taking necessary measures to deal with natural calamities.
“We are going to train 62 thousand volunteers to combat earthquake. Tk 70 crore has already been allocated for purchasing machineries to deal with the earthquake,” he said while unveiling a book on new cautionary signals of natural disasters at his ministry.
The Disaster Management Minister said almost every year Bangladesh has to face natural calamites such as flood, cyclone and erratic rains due to the excessive greenhouse gas emissions by developed countries. [Read more]
