Commentary: Corruption should not continue to rule society

Transparency International in its latest report on corruption perception index has rated Bangladesh as improving its position this year from that of last year. Corruption among ministers is not as widespread as before. Yet corrupt practices continue to determine the order of the day. It is heard that some Parliament committee members show more courage on indulging in corruption. People who piled up billions of Taka in corrupt deals in the past are welding their money and muscle power to get back to positions of power and influence. [Read more]
